Planet. Making products that our customer can feel good about wearing.
How it is going. Here are steps we are taking with our raw materials that our customers can feel good about: Polyester: We are replacing the virgin polyester content in our core styles with partially recycled polyester. Since Holiday 2020, we have upcycled more than 14 million plastic bottles using recycled polyester in our Ultimate and Sherpa styles. Polyamide (Nylon): We are transitioning our core polyamide styles into recycled polyamide, including our Loungin Bra and Lace Panty styles. Raw Materials: PINK does not sell any products that are made from, or contain, real fur, angora, alpaca, down fill, Australian merino wool, or exotic skins. How Recycled Polyester is Made, Bottles are collected, sorted and cleaned. Cleaned bottles are then chopped into flakes to form pellets. Pellets are melted and extruded into fiber. Fibers are formed into yarns that are then made into fabric for new garments.

Improving chemistry and reducing water and energy use in manufacturing. Our commitment to Product Stewardship is translated throughout our garment production, including attention to chemical management and wastewater monitoring. We have adopted the ZDHC Manufacturing Restricted Substances List (MRSL) and the Oeko-Tex standard 100 harmful substances value limits as our Restricted Substances List (RSL) to guide us and our suppliers in environmentally responsible product design, development, and manufacturing. We have built a chemical management program aimed at eliminating the discharge of targeted chemicals in the manufacturing of our apparel products. Our progress. Tested the wastewater of at least 80% of our wet processing suppliers for compliance with the ZDHC Wastewater Guideline. In 2020, 83% of the suppliers tested met the ZDHC Wastewater Guideline chemical requirements. Explored technologies offered by our suppliers to reduce the amount of water and energy usage in our manufacturing.PINK has joined the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC)and will use the group&#39;s sustainability measurement suite<br />
of tools, the Higg Index, to drive environmental and social responsibility throughout our supply chain. The SAC is an industry-wide group of more than 250 leading apparel, footwear, and textile, brands, retailers, suppliers, service providers, trade associations, nonprofits/ NGOs, and academic institutions working to reduce the environmental and social impacts of products around the world.
